Day 13 - Are You Kidding Me?

I saw a commercial for these things last night. I fealt full just looking at it.

I had a bowl of spaghetti for dinner tonight. It was the first time I ate today. I'l probably have some ramen later tonight. No protein, but I figure I can handle a day without.

Once again, food didn't even sound good until about 6pm tonight.

When I was doing an Atkins/Zone style diet, I came across a great balanced lunch recepie:

In a small pot, put a Chicken flavored Ramen Noodle pack and boil the noodles, drain, add the chicken seasoning pack, stir, add one can of Tuna (packed in water) after draining it, stir, add in a dollop or two of real mayo, stir. It tastes like a great Casserole, costs under a dollar, & provides a balanced meal with enough calories to get you through the day.

I also would grill up some Hickory Farms Polska Kilbasa (Polish Sausage) which I'd buy in bulk from Sams' Club in 3lb rolls for under $6. This was more for Atkins dieting than cheap eating but you can freeze it and grill up some every so often to get you through your cravings.

Buy whole grain Indian rice in the 2.5 or 5lb bulk sacks. Its brown rice, not white, so it often sells cheaper, but is more healthy for you. I found it at the regular grocery store on the bottom shelf for under $3 for 5lbs. Some stores may not have it since it doesn't move as fast as the instant rice or the expensive 2lb "Gourmet" rice bags placed at eye level. It will take you longer to cook it (20 min) but so what. Its very cheap & tastey and you can really stretch your money by eating more rice based meals.
