Day 26 - The End In Sight

I’ve been eating a little more in the past day or two than I have been most of this month. With the end fast approaching, I can see I’ve got a little cushion in the budget.

The cushion in the budget and leftover food reminds me of when I took a mission trip to Mexico.

I was in a large group and we had brought all the food we thought we would need with us from the states. Starting with day one, I felt the "cooks" were trying to starve us.
We would come back from a day of hard labor and watered down lemonade to a dinner of (kid you not) two baby carrots, and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. By the way, the sandwich I got was the two ends of the loaf of bread. The tried to hide it by facing the ends together so the part that looks like bread was on the outside.
It was our last full day, (we were leaving in the morning) the "cooks" realized that we had a ton of food left over. They tried to gorge us on breakfast, force fed us triple decker balagona sadwiches, and gardens of baby carrots. We were never going to be able to eat all the food, so we fed the village we had been working in. And I mean the whole village. We still had food leftover that we sent home with the children.

We found we had plenty of food left in the budget.
